Hilda Amanda (Criss) Williams, 95, of Tunnelton went dwelling to be together with her heavenly father, Sept. 29, 2023, from Janet’s Heavenly Residence in Fellowsville.

She was born in Denver, Preston County, on June 17, 1928, the daughter of the late Earl R. Criss and Flossie L. (Wolfe) Criss. She was the final surviving member of her household that was blessed by siblings of 5 boys and 9 women.

Hilda was a long-time member of the Denver United Methodist Church, the Tunnelton Historic Society and was nominated Tunnelton’s Historical past Hero sponsored by the Division of Tradition and Historical past. She beloved to learn, attend, hear and watch Mountaineer basketbal video games.
Hilda graduated from Tunnelton Excessive College in 1946 after which was employed at Westinghouse in Fairmont. After returning to Preston County, she married Foster “Foss” John Williams. She began one other profession as a cook dinner at Tunnelton highschool, then Central Preston Junior Excessive, and lastly South Preston Center College.
Hilda is survived by her solely daughter: Deane “Dee” Shaffer and partner Robert of Tunnelton and a brother-in-law JC Williams of Virginia. She was preceded in dying by her husband, Foster J. Williams in 1986; in-laws Charles and Edith Williams, 5 brothers, eight sisters, and brothers and sisters-in-law.
